As he continues to grow into the crown jewel of the 2028 Recruiting Cycle, Los Angeles (Calif. ) IMG Academy five-star quarterback Jayden Wade received an offer from Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers this week, making them the latest institution to do so.

With offers from schools like the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Ohio State Buckeyes, Wade is currently ranked as America’s top overall prospect.

Wade’s verbal commitment to the Bulldogs, which he announced in public in November during his exceptional sophomore season, is now held by Kirby Smart and the Georgia coaching staff.

“With Georgia, the most notable thing to me is coach Kirby (Smart),” he told Rivals. “Georgia is a major cultural program that always attracts people in, is industrious, and has a team where everyone is on the same page and striving for excellence.

Being surrounded by people who aspire to greatness motivates you to do the same, and it has a contagious effect.

“When I visited, I had a wonderful time chatting with the coaches about the game and observing how intensely they play in practice. Those are the most important elements I observe at Georgia.

“The offense is a really good offense. ” If I were to go there, I would be quite familiar with the offense because it is so similar to the one we use now. One of the reasons I wanted to go there was for that. The manner in which Gunner (Stockton) executes some plays and throws is something I could see myself doing as well.

Despite the commitment to Georgia, other programs, like the LSU Tigers, are still ramping up their efforts to win over the top recruit in the nation.

The Tigers extended an offer to the 6-foot-3, 183-pounder on Monday, and Kiffin and offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. made the call to the energetic signal-caller.

Wade has become a potential quarterback guru that Kiffin is watching as he heads into the offseason.

Since Wade is just starting his process after finishing his sophomore season in 2025, Kiffin and Co. are hoping to put the pressure on the coveted SEC commit as his process gets closer to this offseason.
