Lake Charles, Louisiana. Sam Houston five-star offensive lineman Albert Simien arrived in Baton Rouge on Tuesday morning to participate in the first spring practice of the Lane Kiffin era.
Simien, the No. 2-ranked interior offensive lineman in the 2027 recruiting cycle, has programs from all around the country vying for his commitment as he visits numerous institutions this summer.
The 6-foot-3, 275-pounder has received offers from schools such as the LSU Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Florida Gators, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Texas A&M Aggies throughout his prep career.
However, Simien has begun to take a closer look at the candidates in his search for the LSU Tigers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Nebraska Cornhuskers, who have sparked his interest this offseason.
Simien boarded a plane and flew up to Lincoln (Neb. ) this month for an informal visit with Matt Rhule and Co. , where he was treated like royalty during his time with the Cornhuskers.
As the Huskers compete with in-state LSU and other schools for the five-star, knowing why Paul Mubenga moved from LSU to Nebraska this summer gave important information, according to Rivals’ Tim Verghese on X.
Now, a trip to Baton Rouge has been scheduled, with Simien expected to arrive on campus on Tuesday morning to meet with Kiffin and Co. on the first day of Spring Camp.
Kiffin and the new LSU Tigers coaching staff are examining Louisiana’s finest recruits, with Simien presently leading the offensive board.
