Wisconsin men’s hockey wasted no time in entering the transfer market to strengthen their squad.

According to sources, the Badgers have received a transfer commitment from Northeastern defenseman Dylan Compton following their heartbreaking national championship defeat to Denver on Saturday.

Compton played in 36 games as a freshman at Northeastern in 2025-26, scoring four goals and providing six assists. He had a breakthrough season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 2024-25, playing in 62 regular-season games for the Waterloo Black Hawks and scoring five goals and 40 assists. He maintained his form in the USHL playoffs, scoring two goals and collecting 11 assists in 13 games.

The incoming Badger will strive to strengthen a defense unit that is seeking to replace star Ben Dexheimer.
