Myles Turner has had a difficult first year with the Milwaukee Bucks. He finished the season with a sprained left ankle. All of this was exacerbated by calf and knee ailments in late March.
Meanwhile, the Bucks franchise is in shambles, with a 30-52 record. Doc Rivers was sacked as head coach, and Giannis Antetokounmpo has been suffering injuries, with uncertainty surrounding his future.
Now that the season is over, Turner can reflect. On Thursday, Turner didn’t mince words when discussing his transfer from the Indiana Pacers to the Bucks, according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
It goes without saying that Turner had a significant revelation.
“It was definitely a rude awakening,” Turner told The Athletic and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel before the regular season finished. “It was tough throughout the year, obviously, with all the injuries and so on. But what truly inspired me was the enthusiasm of all the guys, man.
“I feel like, particularly on the players’ side, people took the correct approach, making it easier for me to go about my days. It has clearly been a difficult transition, but I believe that is to be expected with anything new. ”
In total, Turner averaged 11. 5 points per game for the season. 9 points, 5. He had three rebounds and shot 44 percent from the floor.
Turner played for the Pacers from 2015 to 2025. He guided them to the 2025 NBA Finals, where they fell in seven games to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Turner inked a $107 million contract with the Bucks as a free agency in July 2025.
