Kentucky continued their recent run of recruiting success by receiving a commitment from a player in the class of 2027.
Trae Proctor, a tight end from Plantation’s American Heritage High School in Plantation, Fla. , has changed his allegiance from Auburn to the Wildcats. He broke the news on his X account on Thursday evening.
Proctor is the ninth 2027 player to join the Wildcats program, which is currently ranked No. 11 in the country by 247Sports. He’s also the fourth player in the last week to commit to Kentucky. On April 8, Mobile, Ala. , cornerback Miguel Wilson committed to the Wildcats. Two days later, Elijah Brown (Prattville), a defensive lineman and another Alabama native, committed to the team. That was followed by Jake Nawrot, the nation’s No. 6 quarterback, on April 12.
Proctor, a junior at Southridge High School in Miami, had 30 receptions for 604 yards and 11 touchdowns in 12 games. In January, he committed to Auburn to be a member of Alex Golesh’s inaugural recruiting class as head coach. Three months later, he is now a member of the Wildcats.
