Well, this is intriguing: Nick Arnold, a point guard for Davidson Day, claims to be committed to Duke. He was a high school classmate of Isaiah Dennis of UNC and Will Stevens, who will join Clemson this fall.
He wasn’t on our radar at all, but he seems like a strong-willed youngster with leadership skills. He appears to be the sort of person who can prosper in Durham.
He has the potential to be a valuable guard, but it would most likely take a few years for him to do so.
He refers to himself as a walk-on, but we believe the House Settlement abolished walk-ons. However, you understand where he’s coming from.
He will, of course, join a strong backcourt and serve as a practice player for the time being.
On the bright side, he will be on squads that compete for national titles while wearing a Duke uniform.
We’ll update you as we learn more.
