Louis Saha has cautioned Coventry City not to be unduly happy when the Premier League money begins to flow in.
The Sky Blues are still basking in their promotion to the top division for the first time in 25 years, following a memorable season under Frank Lampard.
Lampard, owner Doug King, and the club’s recruiting staff will now work to bolster their squad in order to survive a season in the Premier League.
However, Saha, the former Manchester United and Fulham goal scorer, cautioned Coventry not to make too many changes.
Saha told Betfair: “Championship football was important for my progress. I really liked the project that Jean Tigana and Fulham were doing at the time since it allowed me to grow as both a player and a person.
“The biggest danger for Coventry City is that they see the money and attempt to make too many changes. ” You earn a lot of money, so you may get too excited.
“You truly need to realize that football is more than simply numbers. You must appreciate the individuals and culture that led to your advancement.
They have the confidence to succeed, but they need to equip themselves with the proper resources to do so. I believe Frank Lampard will grasp this. Before, it was all ego.
“Now they truly recognize that if they do not want to do the yoyo, they must plan their promotion very carefully. “
