Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Volunteers wasted no time getting to work this summer. The Volunteers have been quite busy in the NCAA transfer portal, and they aren’t finished yet.
A college basketball commentator who follows the Michigan Wolverines made a prediction this week that will make April feel like Christmas morning for Tennessee Volunteers fans.
On Wednesday, On3’s Josh Henschke predicted that the Volunteers will get highly sought-after Wake Forest Demon Deacons transfer guard Juke Harris.
Henschke agreed that the transfer portal is dynamic, so nothing is guaranteed in terms of Tennessee and Harris (for now).
Michigan and North Carolina are also competing for Harris, a 6-foot-7 wing who averaged 21 points per game for the Demon Deacons last season.
However, the Wolverines appear to be fading.
According to VolQuest’s Austin Price on 104. 5 The Zone on Wednesday, “Rick Barnes is taking that one on kind of personally. ” “He has been working [Harris]. It felt like Michigan four days ago. He went there first (on a visit). He got there, and Michigan was having a championship celebration. But the further away we get from it, the more it seems like a Tennessee vs. North Carolina battle. ”
Juke Harris’ transfer to Tennessee isn’t the only significant forecast made for the Volunteers this week.
That wasn’t the only significant forecast made for Tennessee on Wednesday.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Tennessee will also acquire Notre Dame transfer forward Jalen Haralson.
Haralson, 6-foot-7 and 220 pounds, averaged 16. 2 points, 4. 0 rebounds, and 2. 6 assists per game as a freshman last season at Notre Dame. On Tuesday, he came to Tennessee for a visit.
North Carolina and Ohio State are also in the running for Haralson.
We’ll see if these forecasts come true in the following days. If they do, the rest of the SEC should be wary since the Vols might be powerful next season.
