Following their fourth quarter meltdown against the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 of their series, New York Knicks superfan Ben Stiller knows what he wants to see from Karl-Anthony Towns (KAT) and Jalen Brunson.

Following the Knicks’ Game 2 defeat to the Hawks, he took to X, previously Twitter, to share his thoughts on the team’s challenges, saying, “BRUNSON/KAT only works when they are on the floor. “

One spectator stated that “they were on the floor,” yet “only one person touched the ball in the 4th [quarter]. ” Stiller stated that they were not on the floor together for “half of the fourth. “

Another fan stated that Stiller is “better than this,” referring to his statement as a “casual fan take” and reminding him that he is “not Mike Brown,” New York’s head coach.

“I make no claims and am not against Mike. ” I just want our best players on the court during playoff games,” Stiller said, countering the fan’s accusations.

Did KAT and Jalen Brunson play together in the Knicks’ Game 2 defeat to the Hawks?

Brunson and Towns both played a lot of minutes in Game 2 against the Hawks. The former played 35 minutes and the latter 34. However, as Stiller observed, they did not always share the court in the final quarter.

Regardless, they were the team’s top goal scorers. Brunson led the Knicks with 29 points, while Towns added 18 on 8-of-12 shooting. Towns also had eight rebounds, which were equal with OG Anunoby for second-most in the game for the squad behind Josh Hart (13).

The Knicks were leading the Hawks by 12 points going into the fourth quarter. If they had held on, they would have led the series 2-0 heading into Atlanta for Games 3 and 4.

New York was outplayed and outscored 28-15 in the fourth quarter, losing the game by one point. That has to hurt, and they have two days to recover before playing the Hawks again.
