The Detroit Lions had a successful Monday night, though head coach Dan Campbell has one regret.

Campbell didn’t find out until the postgame press conference that his quarterback, Jared Goff, had completed all 18 of his passes.

Had he known earlier, Campbell said he would have reconsidered his game ball decision.

“Well, I gave the game ball to someone else, and now I feel terrible,” Campbell said. “I knew he had an amazing game, but I didn’t realize he was perfect. I had no idea he went 18 for 18. But you could feel he was playing well.”

Goff’s performance included 292 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. He also caught a touchdown pass on a trick play.

In addition to the perfect passing game, the Lions rushed for 116 yards and scored 3 touchdowns (2 by Jahmyr Gibbs and 1 by David Montgomery).

Detroit’s 42 points were their highest this season, and they now hold a 3-1 record.

Despite missing the chance to give Goff the game ball, Campbell has plenty to be happy about in the win.
