The 2024 regular season concluded in dramatic fashion, drawing the third-largest Sunday Night Football viewership in history. The high-stakes Vikings vs. Lions game garnered an average of 28.5 million viewers across NBC and Peacock. This figure falls just behind the 2012 season finale between Washington and Dallas (30.5 million) and the 2024 season opener between the Ravens and Chiefs (29.2 million). The viewership was 24% higher than the 2023 regular-season finale between the Bills and Dolphins, and it is anticipated to be the most-watched primetime broadcast since the Ravens-Chiefs matchup. As the postseason begins, the viewership is expected to grow, ultimately leading to the Super Bowl’s massive nine-figure audience.
