The Detroit Lions have selected another Michigan Wolverine with their third selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Lions have chosen linebacker Jimmy Rolder as the 118th overall pick in the draft.
Rolder, who weighs 238 pounds and stands 6-foot-2, is somewhat on the smaller side, but he may undoubtedly develop into the WILL linebacker position in Detroit, which Alex Anzalone’s departure in free agency left vacant (6-foot-3, 241).
Rolder, a Michigan starter for a year, had 73 tackles in 12 games and 11 starts last year, including 7. 0 tackles for loss, which led the Wolverines. His efforts earned him a spot on the Second Team All-Big Ten. Rolder allowed 29 receptions on 36 targets last year, according to PFF, therefore coverage is still a work in progress.
Following Grant Stuard’s departure in free agency, Rolder should immediately take over as a tough and athletic special teamer, which should benefit Detroit.
