The divisional-round clash is set for Saturday at Ford Field, where the Detroit Lions will host the Washington Commanders. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
Washington secured their spot with a 23-20 wild-card win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.
Zane Gonzalez, a former Lions kicker in 2021, nailed the game-winning field goal as time expired. The ball hit the upright before going through.
Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin was instrumental in the victory, recording seven receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown. After the game, he discussed the Lions matchup with the Sunday Night Football crew.
“We’ll enjoy this for now,” McLaurin said. “We’ve got things to clean up on the way back, but Detroit’s the number one seed for a reason—they’ve earned our respect.
“But we say ‘anywhere, anytime, any place’ for a reason. We’ll be ready. We’ll hit the road again and bring our fans along.”
The Lions and Commanders last faced off on Sept. 18, 2022, at Ford Field, with Detroit winning 36-27.
