East Carolina point guard Kennedy Fauntleroy has committed to Lady Vols basketball via the transfer site, she announced on April 27.
The 5-foot-7 senior led the Pirates in scoring this season, averaging 13. 7 points, 4. 8 assists, 3. 4 rebounds, 2. 7 steals, and 32. 3 minutes. Fauntleroy was the American Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year, as well as being named to the all-conference first team and All-Defensive squad.
Last go round, she stated in an Instagram post.
Fauntleroy started her career at Georgetown, where she was the unanimous Big East Freshman of the Year in 2022-23. She averaged 10. 9 points, 3. 9 rebounds, 2. 9 assists, and 2. 4 steals per game that season.
Fauntleroy will be a valuable addition to the Lady Vols because of her shooting and defense. She is a career 31. 4% 3-point shooter who attempts 3. 7 times each game, and she has averaged 2. 2 steals per game throughout her career.
She is the 12th addition from the transfer for coach Kim Caldwell, who had to overhaul her full roster heading into her third season.
Fauntleroy joins Liberty guard Avery Mills, Northern Arizona guard Naomi White, Stanford forward Harper Peterson, Georgia forward Zhen Craft, Georgia guard Rylie Theuerkauf, Auburn guard Harissoum Coulibaly, Texas A&M forward Fatmata Janneh, Maryland guard Kaylene Smikle, Penn State guard Shaelyn Steele, Seton Hall guard Jada Eads, and Texas forward Aaliyah Moore as transfer additions.
Irene Oboavwoduo has committed to Tennessee and will join four-star wing Gabby Minus in the freshman class in 2026.
Fauntleroy has played for a separate club every season of her college career. She transferred to Oklahoma State for her sophomore season, but only appeared in five games before quitting the squad midseason. She spent a season at Arizona State before transferring to ECU.
