Everton could turn their attention to Ipswich Town winger Jaden Philogene after fresh reports suggested the club’s pursuit of Manchester City star Jack Grealish has slowed.
Philogene enjoyed a sensational 2025/26 campaign, scoring 13 goals and providing two assists to help Ipswich Town secure automatic promotion back to the Premier League. His outstanding performances have attracted interest from several clubs, with Everton now emerging as a potential destination.
The 24-year-old joined Ipswich from Aston Villa in a £20 million deal in January 2025 after the Tractor Boys fought off strong competition for his signature. Just 18 months later, however, reports indicate the winger is open to leaving Portman Road despite the club’s return to the top flight.
Crystal Palace, Barcelona and West Ham United have all been linked with Philogene in recent months, but Everton are believed to be well placed to enter the race if they decide to make an offer.
The arrival of The Friedkin Group has increased optimism around Everton’s long-term ambitions. Under David Moyes, the Toffees narrowly missed out on European qualification last season and are expected to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Philogene is reportedly eager to play European football, making his next move a crucial decision. Everton may not currently offer continental football, but the club hopes to challenge for European qualification in the near future.
The uncertainty surrounding Ipswich has also fuelled speculation over Philogene’s future. Following Kieran McKenna’s departure, Gary O’Neil has taken charge at Portman Road, and reports suggest some players are weighing up their options ahead of the Premier League season.
Everton’s interest in Philogene also comes amid uncertainty over a move for Jack Grealish. According to Football Insider, the Merseyside club are only willing to pursue the Manchester City midfielder if he becomes available for a significantly reduced fee, reportedly below £10 million.
If a Grealish deal fails to materialise, Philogene could emerge as a more realistic and long-term option. Comfortable on the left wing and capable of beating defenders in one-on-one situations, the Ipswich star possesses the pace, creativity and attacking threat needed to thrive in the Premier League.
With the transfer window still open, Philogene’s future remains one to watch as Everton weigh up whether to make their move for one of the Championship’s standout performers.
