The latest NBA play-in game between the Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets was insane, ending in overtime, and New York Knicks guard Josh Hart was captivated.
Following the game, he went to X, formerly Twitter, to express his feelings. Hart admitted to his fans that the “Hornets and Heat game was crazy”.
Of course, there is a chance that Hart and the Knicks will encounter each other in the playoffs. However, both of them would have to win their first-round matches for this to happen.
Hart and the Knicks will begin their series against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, April 18. Since the Knicks were the better seed, they have homecourt advantage in the series.
The Heat-Hornets overtime drama in the play-in game
The Heat and Hornets played their play-in game on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was a close match, with the teams tied at 114 at the conclusion of the fourth quarter.
The Hornets managed to win after a LeMelo Ball layup with seconds remaining in overtime. He scored 30 points for the Hornets, with five rebounds and ten assists. However, he only hit two of his 16 three-point attempts, while the Hornets made 18 of 56 overall.
Miles Bridges also contributed 29 points and nine rebounds. Brandon Miller contributed 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, and one steal.
The Heat were led by Davion Mitchell, who had 28 points in the game. Kel’el Ware played a significant part, grabbing 19 rebounds in 42 minutes. Andrew Wiggins and Tyler Herro contributed 27 and 23 points, respectively.
While the victory over the Heat was fantastic, the Hornets need one more win to reach the playoffs. They will perform the loser of the game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Orlando Magic. That game will take place on Wednesday, April 15.
