The roster of the Tennessee women’s basketball team is being reconstructed at a rapid pace. Kim Caldwell also secured Irene Oboavwoduo, an incoming freshman and international player from Manchester, United Kingdom, in addition to one 2026 prospect and five transfer portal commitments.

With Gabby Minus as the only other 2026 addition for Tennessee, Oboavwoduo is now the only other. She was first signed with Boston College, but when the Eagles and head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee split up, she was let go.

Prior to selecting the Lady Vols, Oboavwoduo also made stops at Purdue and Cincinnati.

She played for Manchester Basketball in the Super League in England. In November, Oboavwoduo was selected to represent Great Britain in the EuroBasket 2027 Qualifiers as a member of the Senior Women’s National Team.

After Caldwell lost all of her returning players, she is Tennessee’s seventh addition to the team.
