It’s possible that Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers are about to sign a top prospect from the 2027 class.
This week, Sam Spiegelman of On3 predicted that LSU will sign four-star wide receiver Miguel Whitley in 2027, defeating teams like the Tennessee Volunteers, Ole Miss Rebels, Texas Longhorns, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Whitley, who hails from New Orleans and stands 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds, is ranked No. 24 among wide receivers nationally and No. 10 among all players in the state of Louisiana, according to the composite ratings compiled by 247Sports.
Miguel Whitley, a top four-star wide receiver, is well-known with Baton Rouge, having attended several camps, visits, and game-day events there. As a result, he is an early favorite for LSU, Spiegelman said. Things are heading in the correct direction as Lane Kiffin and the new Tigers team have taken up where the previous administration left off. Prior to making a choice, the top 50 prospects are in line to visit Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee, and he has a solid relationship with each of those coaching staffs. Based on conversations with sources, LSU will undoubtedly be a factor until the very end of this.
Miguel Whitley has made arrangements for his formal visit to LSU.
Whitley intends to make an official trip to LSU on June 19, according to 247Sports.
Additionally, one of the advantages of Whitley living only 90 minutes away in New Orleans is that he might go to LSU in the spring as an uninvited guest.
One of LSU’s top priorities is the four-star wide receiver. And with good reason—Kiffin must recruit the best in-state talent. Particularly at the wide receiver spot.
Although the recruiting process is dynamic and anything may happen, it now seems like the Tigers will be a formidable opponent for Whitley in this recruiting war.
