As Lane Kiffin keeps up a full-court press on the Bayou State star, Miguel Whitley, a four-star wide receiver from St. Augustine, Louisiana, is listed among his top five colleges for the LSU Tigers.
With schools from throughout the nation competing for his services, Whitley, who is ranked as the second-best wideout in Louisiana, has established himself as a Top-50 prospect in the 2027 Recruiting Cycle.
Last summer, the 6-foot, 170-pound man traveled around America, competing on the camp circuit at a number of Big Ten and SEC colleges, where he received a lot of offers for the Louisiana native.
In addition to becoming one of the top five prospects in The Boot, Whitley has obtained scholarships from institutions such as the Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Texas Longhorns, Ole Miss Rebels, and LSU Tigers.
The best pass receiver in the country has narrowed his list to five schools, including the LSU Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Ole Miss Rebels, Tennessee Volunteers, and Houston Cougars, he told Rivals.
With Kiffin’s program sparking his interest after receiving an offer last summer, the four-star wide receiver is firmly in the mix with his hometown LSU Tigers.
As the two continue to get to know each other in the midst of personnel changes in Baton Rouge, Kiffin traveled to New Orleans (La. ) last Thursday to meet Whitley in person.
This weekend, Whitley is scheduled to travel to Baton Rouge for an unofficial visit with the LSU Tigers.
The Bayou State standout is coming off a junior season where he caught 46 passes for 869 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging 18. 9 yards per reception, while playing alongside a talented St. Augustine offense that advanced to the state championship game in the Caesars SuperDome.
Following a trip to Knoxville last offseason, Whitley is now intrigued by the Tennessee Volunteers.
“Tennessee climbed my list without a doubt. Prior to the visit, they were already a serious contender, but being there in person and seeing how the coaches conduct themselves, how the athletes behave themselves, and just experiencing the atmosphere on campus made me feel at home right away, Whitley said.
This weekend promises to be a crucial trip for the LSU Tigers, as Kiffin and Co. continue to prioritize Whitley in the 2027 Recruiting Cycle.
