Trey’Dez Green, a tight end for the LSU Tigers, returns to Baton Rouge for his junior season in 2026, with expectations high for the exciting offensive talent.

Green joined the Bayou Bengals as a five-star recruit in the 2024 Recruiting Cycle and has already had an impact for the hometown club, but his third season in purple and gold has the potential to be memorable.

As a sophomore, the deadly red-zone threat led the Tigers with seven touchdown receptions this past year, establishing himself as a vital red-zone target.

Green also had 433 yards, good for third on the team, in what became a breakthrough season for the 6-foot-7, 245-pound receiving threat.

There was still talk that Green might enter the Transfer Portal market as his price grew following a fantastic 2025 season, but Lane Kiffin and Co. ensured that the exceptional Louisiana native was locked up by signing a new deal during the offseason.

Now, hopes for Green are high as he approaches the 2026 season.

PFF has rated Green as the No. 1 tight end returning in America, with all eyes on the explosive offensive weapon.

Green is a freak athlete in college football. According to our player tracking data, he is 6-foot-7, weighs 240 pounds, and clocked a top speed of more than 20 mph this year.

After lighting as a genuine freshman in 2024, Green demonstrated why he was a five-star prospect this season. His seven receiving touchdowns were tied for second in the FBS, and his 75. 0 PFF grade placed him third in the SEC.

Green needs some work as a blocker, but he’s a matchup nightmare in the red zone with the physical abilities to maybe justify a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Now, as the offseason progresses, Green is one of the most discussed offensive players for the LSU Tigers, with Kiffin intending to use his tight end in a variety of ways this fall.
