Ranking third with the playoffs right around the corner is very exciting. Chase Elliott is now experiencing stress due to high expectations.
After winning his redemption race at Texas earlier this year, the Hendrick Motorsports driver has maintained a strong streak of finishes. Yet, at Darlington, his luck appears to be running out.
Elliott finished 12th in the spring race and added a double run to his plan for the second time. However, he had a dismal start in both the Xfinity and Cup series. Despite finishing in the top five on Saturday, Elliott is scratching his head as he prepares for the Southern 500.
Chase Elliott pulls a long face for Darlington
The Cup Series’ final regular season race will take place at Darlington Raceway. Prior to the Cup event, Chase Elliott visited the Lady in Black for Xfinity. His qualifying results were poor, as the Hendrick driver began in 17th place.
Nonetheless, he drove the No. 17 Chevrolet to the front row, taking advantage of a late restart and finishing fourth. However, Christopher Bell, Elliott’s Cup competitor, won the race. Peer pressure, along with poor Cup qualifying (20th position), has Elliott anxious.
The reporters gathered around Chase Elliott to question him about his Xfinity appearance, but the driver appeared depressed. “I do not know. Hopefully, just a few motivating factors. But we will see when the day begins.”
The humid heat got on his nerves, and his Cup Series qualification woes doubled. He emphasized the importance of simply staying hydrated. You’re already behind. So, the good news is that there will be no racing until 6 p.m. tomorrow. So you’ve got some time to replenish your fluids.”

Chase Elliott didn’t blame his car, instead praising his team’s impressive pit stops. Instead, he took it upon himself and stated, “The car was great.” I just battled here. So maybe I needed to get into a decent groove.
Even when I got into a good groove, it wasn’t terrific, you know. It’s simply sort of decent. I’m attempting to work through it, finding bits here and there.I must compete with the excellent men here tomorrow night.”
Insiders see Chase Elliott as a strong contender in Darlington, despite his reservations. Elliott, with only an 18-point lead over Tyler Reddick, appears to be a legitimate contender for the championship. Meanwhile, the Hendrick driver is also looking forward to next year’s revised schedule.
