Lions coach Dan Campbell and his family recently sold their house and moved after their address was made public and they faced harassment. A new report, based on a police report, explains how it happened.

According to Robert Snell of the Detroit News, a classmate of Campbell’s daughter exposed the family’s address in a SnapChat post.

“Dumb fuck trying to go for it,” the male student wrote following the NFC Championship loss to the 49ers in January.

Investigators spoke to the classmate, who said he and his friends were upset about the game’s outcome and thought the post was funny. School security officials later found that the classmate and others drove to Campbell’s house after the game, parked nearby, and yelled toward the house.

The investigator informed Campbell’s wife, Holly, that the incident didn’t meet the criteria for criminal charges.

“Holly’s main concern is that their address is now public, and she worries that people will know when her husband is away during the next season and might take advantage of that,” the police report says.

Campbell declined to comment on the matter last week.

“No disrespect, man, I don’t even want to go there with any of it,” Campbell said. “It’s all good. I’ve got a job to do. My main job is to coach this team and have them ready every week. I’ve got to focus on that.”

The family has since moved. Due to the nature of property transfers, it’s nearly impossible to keep the new address private. The Detroit News knows the address but won’t disclose the new location.
