The Iowa Hawkeyes dominated the Wisconsin Badgers for four quarters, leaving them with a miserable day. It was horrible, awful, and really humiliating. Luke Fickell and the Badgers will return with a win, nonetheless. Somehow, on a day when they were boat raced, Fickell and the Badgers persuaded 4-star wide receiver Dontay Tyson to switch from Washington to Wisconsin.

This narrative has many levels. How did Wisconsin manage to flip the script on a day when their offense didn’t score at all? This is the primary and most obvious question. What offensive strategies is Wisconsin using that might persuade a wide receiver, of all people, to choose to be a Badger? It’s a crazy day to choose to be a Badger, but that’s the most obvious reason, along with NIL cash and a pipeline that Fickell is building.

A day in which their rival dominated Wisconsin. However, the context and decisions Tyson makes may benefit from the additional layer. From “Does this man not own a TV? ” to the more serious, “He saw this Wisconsin offense and thought, ‘They need me! ‘” the comments are full of jokes about why he chose today.

Dontay Tyson is another excellent illustration of Wisconsin’s Arizona pipeline construction.

Tyson is a four-star wide receiver from Peoria, Arizona, who makes plays. He is a further player who made his way to Madison from the desert. With a few others following him in the 2028 class, he is currently the fourth pledge from the state in the 2027 class.

It’s hardly unexpected that he’s a high school track star because he’s renowned for his quickness. He can remove the top off the defense and can soar around the football field. Tyson adds another layer to this recruiting class, which is currently among the top-rated.

In the 2027 class, which is presently ranked No. 22, Tyson is the 24th player to commit. That’s the silver lining for the Badgers after taking a crushing loss to Iowa. That there are still guys willing to come to Wisconsin to assist this team in overcoming the obstacle. This defeat to Iowa is horrible, but Tyson’s addition makes it a bit less painful. Is there any hope in the future? Hopefully, if Fickell stays as coach, a class of this level will help change the Badgers’ course against Iowa.

Even though Tyson may not have had much to watch in this game against Iowa, the anticipation of what he can provide to Wisconsin is at least a start. Fickell must figure out how to alter the reality that Iowa obviously has his number annually.
