The Lions hosted a formal release celebration for season ticket holders on Thursday night, despite an earlier leak on Thursday.

FOX 2 (WJBK): A leak allowed us to see their jerseys before they were released online.

The Honolulu blue jersey, the new black alternate jersey, and the white jersey will be worn by the Lions. Since 2007, this is the first time they have worn black.

The best, though, was left for last: an eye-catching blue helmet with stripes down the middle and a black Lion insignia on the side to go with the alternate jersey during the official game tonight at Ford Field for season ticket holders.

“The team’s alternate helmet, which was introduced leading into the 2023 season, now features a black leaping Lion trimmed in silver on the matte blue shell,” the release from the organization stated.

“The leaping Lion is complimented by a black and silver stripe the runs the length of the helmet, as well as a black facemask.”

The black pants and blue helmet were visible when Kerby Joseph emerged to pose in the alternate black costume. The sleeves, like the other three new uniforms, have visible silver stripes.

Other modifications that you might have noticed immediately are the names and numbers, which now have a more block-style appearance.

The blue jerseys’ white numerals stand out significantly more than the outdated silver ones.

According to a team statement, “all three of the teams’ classic colors are featured in both primary uniforms.”

“William Clay Ford, the team’s longstanding owner who ensured the team’s continued existence in the Motor City, is honored by a patch on the jerseys just beneath the inside back collar.

The WCF emblem with its recognizable stripes is used on the patch, which is modeled after a custom suit label and features Mr. Ford’s signature in a classic style.

“Both primary jerseys can be paired with either a silver pant option that features blue and white striping down the leg or three unadorned pant options – silver, blue or white.”

The helmets have two Honolulu Blue stripes running down the center of a more glossy silver tint.

“The team will continue to wear their classic silver helmet with the leaping Lion in redefined Honolulu Blue and trimmed in white on the side of the helmet,” said the press release.

“The updated look will feature a blue and white stripe that ties to the jersey sleeves.”A blue facemask has been added as an extra nod to the teams from the early 1990s.

Additionally, the back left of the helmet has a permanent sticker honoring William Clay Ford, which displays the traditional WCF symbol with two famous Ford stripes.”

The WCF initials have been removed from the jersey sleeve, but two distinctive components are being used in memory of the late owner William Clay Ford. His initials are decalmed on the helmet’s back for the first nod, and all of the game-used jerseys have a replica of his signature on the inside.

There will still be a retro option. The Lions will stick with their traditional aesthetic, wearing an all-silver helmet with a traditional shirt.

The squad can choose to contrast things with their new blue facemask or match the helmet with a silver facemask.

Each jersey features a distinct phrase on the inside back collar: “One Pride” is written on the blue jersey, “313” is written on the white jersey, and “Motor City” is written on the black jersey.

Here is an additional team release: New uniforms for the Lions: each intro These are the three uniforms that the Lions will be revealing on Thursday during an event for season ticket holders. The Honolulu Blue of the home jersey has been reinterpreted with a traditional white number font surrounded by silver borders and a new take on shoulder striping.

“ONE PRIDE,” a reference to the team’s fervent supporters who fill Ford Field for every home game, is inscribed on the jersey’s inside collar.

The road jersey is presented in a traditional white color scheme with shoulder stripes in both blue and silver, and blue numerals surrounded by silver accents.

The Honolulu Blue trim on the inside collar of the white jersey pays reference to the hard ethic that made Detroit a famous American city, as well as the gritty style of play of the Lions. For the first time in team history, the Lions will wear “DETROIT” over their chest when playing on the road. The collar also has a “313” wordmark on the back.

The black jersey has blue classic numbers on a black background with a silver outline, and the sleeves have silver and blue stripes.

As a tribute to the late 1950s teams who ruled the early years of professional football, the Lions’ closet will continue to include a traditional uniform. The team’s only modification to the iconic jersey is the redefined blue; the classic silver numbers remain outlined. Blue socks and silver pants without stripes will go with the jersey.
