Four-star wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens from Fort Lauderdale (Fla. ) Chaminade-Madonna Prep announced his commitment to the LSU Tigers on Friday, changing his commitment from the Miami Hurricanes. Following an official visit to LSU’s campus, the 5-foot-10, 165-pounder had been committed to Miami since January 2025 before switching course.

The trip had a significant impact, as the Tigers’ personnel left a lasting and positive impression. Earlier, Stevens had singled out LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas as the schools making the strongest efforts to convince him to change, but in the end, the Tigers came out on top. Stevens and the Hurricanes made a reciprocal decision to go forward, paving the way for his commitment.

Stevens has a history of consistent output throughout many seasons. In nine games during his junior year, he had 23 receptions for 312 yards and one touchdown while playing alongside Calvin Russell, a top-100 Syracuse recruit. In his sophomore year at St. Thomas Aquinas, he had a more productive season, totaling eight touchdowns and 44 receptions for 550 yards. He is anticipated to be a main outside target for Chaminade-Madonna as he enters his senior year.

Stevens’ ranking varies by service, but he is considered to be among the top 25 players in Florida and among the top 245 prospects in the nation overall. He is also placed between the No. 36 and No. 39 wide receiver in the class. In the 40-yard sprint, he clocked 4. 39 seconds, and in the 100-meter race, he ran at a high speed of 10. 64 seconds.

Stevens is the first wide receiver commit and third overall for LSU in the 2027 class. He teams up with Peyton Houston, a four-star quarterback, and Jaiden Bryant, an edge rusher. Houston, a top-10 quarterback prospect, provided the Tigers with an early offensive base by completing 70% of his passes for 4,480 yards and 38 touchdowns in his sophomore year.

The addition is further evidence of LSU’s recruiting success under head coach Lane Kiffin and wide receivers coach George McDonald, who helped secure Stevens. As the program seeks to replenish a wide receiver room that consists of 13 players but few underclassmen, the Tigers are still recruiting several high-caliber prospects and actively looking for more receivers.
