Despite a difficult and uneven 2025 campaign, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff hasn’t lost confidence in the leadership guiding the franchise in Allen Park.

While the team hasn’t matched the success of the previous season and has struggled to find consistency, Goff remains firmly aligned with the organization’s long-term direction.

After a recent practice, Goff was asked directly whether he still has faith in the Lions’ decision-makers and coaching staff. His response left little room for doubt.
“I have complete trust in them,” Goff said in comments shared by Lions OnSI.

“They believed in me first, and I believe fully in them. I know they’ll get things corrected. No one is more focused or driven to put us in a position to win more games next season than they are.”

That level of conviction is notable, especially during a season that has drawn plenty of outside criticism. Now in his early 30s and putting together one of the strongest statistical years of his career, Goff understands how quickly fortunes can change in the NFL.

Close Games, Small Mistakes, Big Consequences

When reflecting on what this season has revealed about both himself and the team, Goff was candid. In his view, success in the league often comes down to the smallest details.

“The difference is incredibly small,” Goff explained. “Last year, we came out on top in a lot of close games. This season, we’ve been on the other side of those results — largely because of our own mistakes. It’s not about anything external.”

The league hasn’t changed. The effort hasn’t disappeared. But tiny lapses have led to very different outcomes.

Goff emphasized that correcting those issues requires deliberate work and attention to detail.

“It reinforces how important execution, communication, and preparation are,” he said. “That’s the NFL. You have to be just a little bit sharper than your opponent, and that adds up.”
It’s the perspective of a quarterback who’s experienced both success and adversity at the highest level.

Looking Ahead: Stability Over Panic

Detroit’s season hasn’t unfolded the way anyone hoped. Still, Goff’s mindset remains calm and forward-looking rather than frustrated.
He believes the talent in the locker room is strong.
He believes the coaching staff is invested and accountable.

And above all, he believes the organization has the right structure in place.
As the Lions approach the 2026 season with major decisions ahead, one thing appears steady: the quarterback’s commitment.

There’s no sign of division or doubt coming from the most important position on the roster.
Goff is fully committed to the process — and intends to be a central part of Detroit’s push forward.
