The recruiting success that Texas A&M has had under coach Mike Elko and his staff is not at all shocking, and it will only improve after the Aggies finished the 2025 season with an 11-2 record and earned their first trip to the College Football Playoff, which wowed almost every priority 2027 prospect, including five-star offensive lineman Kennedy Brown, who is scheduled to make his 13th trip to College Station this summer.
Brown is probably the Aggies’ top priority target, and he is currently thought to be slightly favored to join them, with the Oregon Ducks being the only other team competing for him. On June 5, Brown will make his first official visit. In numerous interviews over the past few months, Brown has stated that Texas A&M is still his best choice due to its culture, facilities, academic offerings, and his relationship with the coaching staff, particularly Elko and O-line coach Adam Cushing.
The blue-chip recruit, Brown, who is about to begin his senior year at Kingwood HS in Houston, Texas, recently told On3’s Steve Wiltfong that, in addition to all the Aggies have to offer within, the proximity of College Station to Houston is a major advantage because his family wouldn’t have to go far outside of road games to see him play in the coming years.
“The culture,” Brown declared. “The coaching staff, relationships, and academics. ” It seems broad, but it’s all incredible.
“The fact that it’s close by and easy to get to is a huge advantage. “
For the majority of potential players in the Houston region who want to stay close to home while still having the chance to play high-level football and not have to worry about being too far from their family, this has become a popular trend. The short distance is only the icing on the cake because it is widely understood that Brown prioritizes relationships above all else.
