A day after a lengthy Detroit News article detailed multiple arrests for armed robbery and kidnapping in Tampa, Florida, a lawyer for Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold denied any involvement or knowledge of the event.

Arnold’s name was mentioned numerous times in an order from Hillsborough County Circuit Judge J. Logan Murphy, approving the state’s request for pretrial detention for Boakai Hilton.

Hilton is one of five individuals detained in relation with the incident, which has been described as a revenge assault on a private driver for Arnold and an associate connected to two thefts at an Airbnb rented by the Lions player.

Arnold’s attorney, R. Timothy Jansen Esq. of Jansen & Davis, P. A. , said in full:

I represent Mr. Terrion Arnold in connection with an incident that purportedly happened on February 4, 2026, in Tampa, Florida, and resulted in the arrest of five people on serious felony charges.

To be clear, Mr. Arnold was not involved in any way in the activities that resulted in the arrests. He did not engage in or attend any activity related to the alleged offenses. There is no evidence in police records, text messages, or witness testimonies that connects Mr. Arnold to anything.

In fact, after direct contact with the chief prosecutor, it has been established that no charges have been filed against Mr. Arnold in connection with this case.

Recent press coverage has mentioned an Order issued by Circuit Judge J. Logan Murphy, which falsely implies Mr. Arnold’s participation in the event. That same Order wrongly identifies Ms. Devalle as Mr. Arnold’s girlfriend. Both claims are erroneous, misleading, and totally unsupported by the record.

Mr. Arnold vigorously rejects these false allegations and insists on his absolute innocence. He was not involved in the offenses that were supposedly committed on February 4, 2026, in Tampa, Florida.

We highly advise journalists not to propagate false or speculative stories. The facts are obvious, and they do not back up any allegation of misbehavior by Mr. Arnold.

As Jansen’s statement indicates, Arnold has not been charged in connection with the event. The two incidents of theft at his Airbnb, which had been reported to authorities, included the stealing of firearms, jewels, a cellphone, and $100,000 in cash.

Suspecting the driver, Yan Lopez, was involved, he and an acquaintance were tricked to a house where they were ambushed, imprisoned, and battered in an attempt to get a confession and the return of the stolen goods.
