David Folorunsho, a defensive lineman for Chicago (IL) St. Patrick, is among the most sought-after players in the 2027 recruiting class. Michigan lately extended a scholarship to the 6’4, 280-pound lineman, who also plays tight end.

Larry Black, the new defensive line coach, formerly of Vanderbilt, wasted no time in making Folorunsho an offer, and Michigan is now one of his top schools.

Folorunsho told Michigan Wolverines on SI, “It means a lot to me. ” I’ve always hoped for an offer from Michigan. Their style of play is something I like.

Michigan is a strong contender, according to Coach Black.

According to the Composite, the four-star defensive lineman is the 163rd-best player in the country overall and the 20th-best defensive lineman. Additionally, Folorunsho is ranked ninth among Illinois high school athletes.

In the past, Michigan has done a great job of recruiting the state of Illinois, and coach Black has the Wolverines among the top teams in Folorunsho’s recruiting.

Anyone would want Coach Black as a position coach, according to Folorunsho. By speaking with him, you can determine his coaching style.

Folorunsho’s offer sheet is outstanding. Among other schools, Alabama, Notre Dame, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Penn State, and Tennessee are all vying for him. Even though the Recruiting Prediction Machine from Rivals gives the Irish a 93. 8% chance of landing him, since receiving the offer from Michigan, he claims that the Wolverines are already one of his top options.

Folorunsho claims that although he is still trying to understand everything, Michigan is undoubtedly one of the best universities.

Michigan plans

Folorunsho has a scheduled campus visit day, which is not long after receiving a Michigan offer. He informed us that he plans to travel to Ann Arbor in April for a spring practice session.

In terms of his playing style, he wanted Michigan supporters to know that he’s always trying to improve his game, but he’ll give it his all every time he steps out there.

I’m constantly striving to improve my skills, and I’m going to play with unwavering dedication, he stated.

Michigan has three commitments for the class of 2027 as of the time of this writing. Michigan is considering a few other 2027 QB candidates to replace four-star QB Peter Bourque, who recently de-committed from the Wolverines.

Recarder Kitchen, a four-star edge rusher, and Tristan Dare and Louis Esposito, two three-star offensive linemen, are also committed to Michigan.
