The Texas A&M Aggies have gotten off to a strong start with their 2027 recruiting class, with nine four-stars already committing to head coach Mike Elko’s program. Six of them are on defense, which improved dramatically on Tuesday with the addition of five-star EDGE Zyron Forstall. Forstall revealed the news on social media, writing: I’m HOME!!!

Several other top programs were in consideration for Forstall, including the Miami Hurricanes, LSU Tigers, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. However, after visiting Texas A&M this weekend, the 6-foot-4, 225-pounder chose to commit to the Aggies.

According to 247Sports Composite, Forstall is the No. 5 EDGE and No. 42 overall player in the 2027 class. He competes for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he is the fifth-ranked player in a talent-rich state.

Forstall recorded 28 tackles, 9. 0 tackles for loss, 5. 0 sacks, and four quarterback hurries in eight games as a junior. The current Aggies commit has established himself as one of the top 2027 pass-rushing possibilities thanks to his great combination of speed and flexibility on a 6-foot-4 body, though he will need to gain bulk to cope with the intense college football physicality.

The acquisition of Forstall is another compliment to Elko and his team’s outstanding 2027 recruiting class, which is now ranked second in the country according to 247Sports. They’re stocked with defensive talent, implying that the Aggies’ great defense will last for years.
