Florida State University’s football program is currently conducting its spring training and has welcomed numerous highly-regarded prospective student-athletes for visits. Among these visitors was Cam Wade, a four-star wide receiver from Paducah, Kentucky.

Wade had previously identified Florida State as one of his top four college choices. Following his most recent visit, he indicated that the university has now become the frontrunner in his recruitment.

“Florida State is currently in the lead,” Wade informed Noles247. “As I’ve mentioned, this environment genuinely feels like home to me. I share an excellent connection with Head Coach Norvell, and I communicate with Coach Harris almost daily. These factors contribute to my feeling that they are leading at this time.”

He has scheduled official visits to the University of Alabama (May 29), Auburn University (June 5), Florida State University (June 12), and the University of Maryland (June 19). Wade intends to announce his commitment after completing these official visits.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Wade is rated as the 360th best overall player and the 48th best wide receiver nationally. He is also recognized as the sixth-highest ranked player from Kentucky. Despite being primarily categorized as a wide receiver, he has demonstrated his abilities on both offense and defense throughout his high school career, and Florida State is reportedly open to him playing either position, or even both.

He concluded an exceptional junior season at Paducah Tilghman High School. Wade made significant contributions in all three phases of the game, accumulating 53 receptions for 821 yards and 14 touchdowns on offense, scoring two touchdowns via punt returns, and adding two defensive touchdowns from interceptions.
