Florida State requires a quarterback for the 2027 cycle. With that in mind, they have identified a particular prospect: a blue-chip signal-caller. Wonderful Monds IV.
Another suitor seeking Monds is Ohio State. However, Tom Loy of 247Sports believes that FSU is the favorite for the Vero Beach High School standout.
Everyone is watching Ohio State and Florida State. The Buckeyes would gladly recruit him as a second quarterback in the class, alongside four-star signal-caller Brady Edmunds. However, Monds is the Seminoles’ top goal. Mike Norvell, and others in Tallahassee, Florida, would be pleased to make him the face of the 2027 class traveling to Florida State.
Monds attended a 7-on-7 camp in June 2024, his first visit to Tallahassee. When he departed, he had an offer from Florida State. So, the Seminoles have been following Monds for nearly two years.
Ohio State did not approach Monds until January, and he spent his first visit with them over the weekend. Meanwhile, Florida State hosted Monds on campus for a Junior Day function in January and again for an unofficial visit in March.
Monds is the No. 210 player in the country and the No. 19 quarterback according to the 247Sports composite ratings. He is also the No. 23 prospect in Florida.
It is critical that FSU continue aggressively pursuing Monds, with Ohio State hot on their tail.
