– Ole Miss women’s basketball head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin continues to rebuild the Rebel team for the 2026-27 season, announcing the addition of center Emily Howard from Boise State on Thursday.

Emily is an exceptional individual, according to McPhee-McCuin. Her skill is fantastic, but it was the person she is that sealed the deal for me! Emily will have an instant effect on our program because to her height, talent, and competitive mentality!

During her only year as a Bronco, Howard appeared in 27 games off the bench, averaging 2. 4 points and 1. 8 rebounds, with eight blocks on the season.

Prior to joining Boise State, Howard spent three years playing for Liberty. In 2024-25, she played seven games, averaging 7. 4 points on a 58. 3% shooting clip from the field, 3. 6 rebounds, before sustaining a season-ending injury. The Vancouver, British Columbia, native participated in 47 games during the previous two years, redshirting her rookie year.

Howard graduated from Harding Academy in Memphis, Tennessee, with an average of 16. 9 points, 8. 0 rebounds, and 2. 5 blocks. As a junior, the 6-foot-5 center was named District Player of the Year, a three-time first-team All-District selection, and received All-Metro Team recognition.

Ole Miss now has five student-athletes on its 2026-27 roster, including Talaysia Cooper, the Rebels’ second addition from the transfer portal, and returnees Desrae Kyles, Lauren Jacobs, and Sira Thienou, with more to follow.
