According to On3’s Joe Tipton, former Missouri guard Anthony Robinson has committed to Florida State via the transfer portal. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Robinson played three seasons for the Tigers, starting 50 of his 96 games. He began the majority of the 2024-25 season before returning to a bench position midway through the 2025-26 season.
Despite the rotation shift, he averaged 8. 9 points, 3. 1 rebounds, and 3. 0 assists. As a career 31. 2% 3-point shooter, he wants to get closer to his career-high 40% rate as a sophomore.
He is a previous SEC All-Defense selection who offers two-way value by averaging 1. 6 steals per game. The ability to affect both ends of the court sparked interest from NBA scouts as a probable draft pick last offseason.
Florida State is coming off an 18-15 season in Year One under new head coach Luke Loucks, who joined Tallahassee after serving as an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings. As the Seminoles begin to assemble the 2026-27 squad, they want to build on a 10-3 finish to the season.
Last season, Thomas Bassong and AJ Swinton were the sole scholarship players returning. Each player contributed to Florida State’s success last season, with Bassong making 17 starts and averaging little over five points. Swinton only played one game, averaging just under five points per game.
Despite losing a lot of production from last year’s squad, the team has begun with two additional transfer targets. Shon Abaev, a former Cincinnati forward, and Kameron Taylor, a former UNC Ashville forward, both committed in this cycle.
Florida State also has an intriguing class of recruits for the 2026 cycle, with four new players set to join the program. Collin Paul, Brandon Bass, and Martay Barnes will battle for minutes in the backcourt, while Marcis Ponder will bring size to the frontcourt.
The Seminoles still have opportunity to complete out the roster with a mix of transfer portal recruits and international prospects in the coming weeks and months. They now have nine scholarship athletes on their roster.
