Marco Sturm Hints At Changes To Bruins Lines Before of Do-or-Die Game 5 Image
The Boston Bruins are on the brink of a do-or-die Game 5.
Boston suffered a 6-1 setback to the Buffalo Sabres in Game 4, putting them down 3-1 in the first round. It was a frustrating result for the Bruins, who must win three consecutive games to advance to the second round.
Bruins coach Marco Sturm indicated before Game 5 on Tuesday that the team is likely to make some lineup adjustments in an attempt to regain form.
“Don’t look at the lines today,” Sturm said after training on Monday. “It’s going to be different tomorrow. … I require more time to decide on the lineup. Tomorrow will bring some changes. Today, several areas were more significant than simply lines. “
Some of the lineup adjustments might be due to injuries, as Viktor Arvidsson departed Sunday’s game with an upper-body ailment and did not return. He didn’t practice on Monday either. Mikey Eyssimont took Arvidsson’s place in practice.
“It’s clearly a major loss for us,” Casey Mittelstadt remarked of Arvidsson. “He’s been a vital component of our team, particularly down the stretch, making a lot of major plays and scoring a lot of important goals for us. I don’t think one individual can achieve this. However, we will do so as a committee. Everyone on this team contributes something unique. “
Meanwhile, Nikita Zadorov, a big-bodied defenseman, did not practice on Monday, and Mason Lohrei took his place on the third pair alongside Andrew Peeke.
Game 5 is slated for Tuesday at 7:30 p. m. ET in Buffalo.
