In Game 5, the Boston Bruins just barely defeated the Buffalo Sabres. In regulation, they were only able to defeat goaltender Alex Lyon once. In the end, just nine minutes of overtime hockey was all it took for David Pastrnak, the standout forward, to break free in the offensive zone.
Before leaping the boards, Pastrnak informed TNT analyst Paul Bissonette that they would finish the game during that shift.
“We are going to get one on this next shift,” Pastrnak said to Bissonnette, turning to (Pavel) Zacha on the bench. Because that line in front of us — I believe it was Elias Lindholm Lindy’s line with Morgan Geekie Geeks — had a significant block and endured a massive drive by Buffalo.
We felt like we might be able to obtain one, which is sort of amusing. It worked out.
Pastrnak also went into further detail about his overtime victory. There has been a little argument over Pastrnak barely managing to maintain his skate on the right side of the blue line while accepting a pass from Hampus Lindholm, mostly from the well-known troll and Bruins hater Bissonnette.
Pastrnak informed Bissonnette that (Lindholm) gave it enough juice for me to extend my left leg slightly while maintaining my speed. In this series, I clearly had a few breaks that didn’t fall in my favor. As a result, I attempted this maneuver, and I’m happy that it succeeded and that I remained onside.
Despite having been held scoreless in this series, Pastrnak will seek to turn things around and extend the series in Game 6 on Friday night.
