In an effort to keep Coventry City in the Premier League next season, Frank Lampard may look to one of his previous Chelsea players.
Under Lampard, Coventry gained promotion to English football’s top division by winning the Championship.
Lampard is clearly keen to be ready for what is anticipated to be a challenging and exhausting season for the Sky Blues in the Premier League.
Frank Lampard wants to recruit Mason Mount for Coventry.
Lampard collaborated with Mason Mount at Chelsea and Derby County, and the 47-year-old is apparently considering him again.
On Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, Phillips claimed that his sources have told him that Lampard is planning a big transfer for his former player this summer.
In 2023, The Blues sold Mount to their Premier League opponents Manchester United for an initial £55 million cost.
The attacking midfielder was in the last year of his contract, and BlueCo did not want to risk him leaving as a free agent.
Things have not quite worked out for Mount at Old Trafford, thus it would not be unexpected for him to leave in the near future.
However, at this point in time, Mount may not be ready to join a newly promoted team such as Coventry.
He was crucial to Chelsea’s Champions League victory in 2021, but Mount’s relationship with Chelsea fans has deteriorated.

Lampard might be the guy to restart Mount’s career. The former midfielder made a lot out of his time with Chelsea and Derby.
In total, Mount has featured in 127 games under Lampard. According to Transfermarkt, he has tallied 22 goals and contributed 18 assists in those games.
Chelsea supporters believed Mount was a significant loss when he departed, but Cole Palmer immediately filled the void, and he has shown to be a massive improvement.
