The Tennessee Volunteers men’s basketball team is one piece away from completing what might be one of the greatest rosters Rick Barnes has put together during his time in Knoxville. His most recent addition, Juke Harris, may prove to be the greatest transfer portal commitment of Barnes’ career.

Landing Harris was a big victory for Tennessee, and it might go down as Barnes’ greatest portal addition to date. Harris’ devotion helped the Volunteers achieve the nation’s top-ranked transfer portal class.

“Tennessee basketball continues to add to its star-studded transfer portal haul, with Wake Forest guard Juke Harris joining on Monday, May 4. Last season, Harris, the No. 2 overall transfer portal player in USA TODAY’s rankings, averaged 21. 4 points, 6. 5 rebounds, and 1. 9 assists per game while shooting 44. 4%. He picked the Vols over Michigan, which he visited, as well as North Carolina, among other universities. “Harris’ commitment moves Tennessee’s portal total to No. 1 in USA TODAY Sports’ class rankings,” Austin Curtright of USA Today wrote.

Barnes was able to persuade Harris by being honest with him and clearly outlining which aspects of his game require improvement.

“Another thing that distinguished him from the others was that he came in and complimented me on how great I was, but he also criticized me on certain areas where I need improvement. … I feel like I will be a more complete player when I arrive in Tennessee next year,” Harris said.

The star transfer is ecstatic to join the Vols and begin preparing for the 2027 NBA Draft. He also made a commitment to Tennessee supporters, promising that the ambiance next season will be dynamic.

“So I’m really looking forward to perform in front of you guys, and it’s going to be a huge show,” Harris said.

Without a question, Harris is confident, appearing joyful to join the Tennessee program. Expectations will be quite high for both Harris and the Volunteers, but it is safe to say that the former Wake Forest Demon Deacons men’s basketball star is up to the task.

Harris was said to be on the verge of being selected in the first round of this year’s NBA Draft, but he has decided to give Rocky Top all he has before completely pursuing his professional goal. With his recent remarks, Harris has already created significant excitement among Tennessee fans.
