Do the wealthy become wealthier? As the new Gators head coach is on a recruiting spree this spring, that is precisely what is happening for Florida and Jon Sumrall at the moment. Andrew Beard, a four-star running back, improved things even more when he chose Florida over Clemson and other schools.

Florida’s offseason progress is dampened by ESPN.

The electric playmaker received a total of 40 offers during his recruitment, but in the end, Florida was the victor for him. Therefore, what caused this breaking news for the SEC side? Due to Coach Sumrall, Beard was outspoken in his faith in the program’s future:

“Simply the fire and passion that I see in Coach Sumrall,” Beard stated to begin the reason he ultimately chose the Gators. And simply the trust that Coach (Kevin) Faulkner and Coach (Chris) Foster have in me. Truly, only the support they’ve given me.

Florida was able to acquire an exciting new RB commit because of Jon Sumrall’s enthusiasm.

As a result, the program is already benefiting greatly from the enthusiasm that Sumrall has brought with him to Gainesville. Although Florida fans already knew this about him, the fact that he was able to reel in a star running back like this only serves to confirm it. Sure, switching him out for Billy Napier is still a wise move.

As Clemson previously appeared to be the front runner in completing the deal, persuading Beard to commit was not simple either. Sumrall never ceased showering Beard with affection, which is why Beard chose to play his collegiate ball in the SEC, despite the fact that Dabo Swinney and his crew must have been quite confident.

Although he had other options, including Tennessee and Georgia, the draw of moving to The Swamp and making a difference for Sumrall was simply too tempting to ignore. Now that Beard is dedicated, Florida has 14 commitments for the class of 2027, which 247Sports lists as the fifth best in the nation.

Sumrall has only been able to secure three pledges so far this month: Beard, safety Kailib Dillard, and defensive lineman Stive-Bentley Keymajou Yondui. Is there more to come anytime soon? Sumrall is likely to rejoice this most recent Beard news for a bit, and reasonably so, given that he has been on fire lately.
