Pingpong balls bounced favorably for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Memphis technically drew the fourth lottery combination, but since the first two combinations went to the Utah Jazz, the Grizzlies eventually got the No. 3 overall selection in the 2026 NBA Draft. The Washington Wizards won the No. 1 choice, the Jazz will pick second, and Memphis is now in excellent position.

During the lottery event on May 10 in Chicago, projected top prospects AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Caleb Wilson, and Cam Boozer sat with their family members, giving them a first look at what their NBA careers may hold.

Memphis received the third choice thanks to the ping pong ball combination 13-4-10-6.

Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman and vice president of player affairs Tayshaun Prince attended the lottery selection and the on-stage presentation. Following the announcement of the results, the two met and engaged in a long conversation inside the Navy Pier ballroom.
