The Colorado Avalanche ended the Minnesota Wild’s postseason run, thus the team will now focus on improving for next season. Unfortunately, Jonas Brodin missed the entire series due to a lower-body ailment. Brodin explained in exit interviews why he missed time with the team.

“Jonas Brodin told me he had surgery a few weeks ago on a broken bone in his foot and it was horrible to miss the playoffs,” Michael Russo of The Athletic wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Brodin would have been a player who could have swung the balance in the Wild’s favor, but they battled as hard as possible.

The Wild had a terrible Game 5, leading 3-0 at one point before the Avalanche rallied to win the game.

Following the setback, head coach John Hyes attempted to see the positive aspects of the situation, understanding that the wounds were still fresh.

“It’s a little raw right now,” Hynes told NHL. com’s Ryan Boulding. “But, as I said before, I believe this team was highly competitive throughout the year, stuck together, went through the ups and downs, and I believe we’ll look at the first series (a 4-2 series victory over the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference First Round) and learn from it. And I believe you will take some things away from this, and then you must move on. “

The Wild had a strong season, winning 46 games. They also added Quinn Hughes, which should provide some optimism moving forward.

Hopefully, they can remain healthy at the appropriate moment next season, which should assist them in the playoffs.
