With his contract set to expire this summer, Daniel Babb, a town youngster, has announced that he will be leaving the team. After two and a half years at Portman Road, where he progressed through the academy, played frequently for the U21s, and faced several challenges along the way, the 20-year-old right-back is leaving.

Ipswich to UCD

After leaving UCD in the League of Ireland, Babb joined Town in February 2024. Despite being only eighteen, he had plenty of playing time upon arrival. By the end of 2023, he had logged ten games at the top level in Ireland. He then went to Suffolk after the conclusion of that season.

Injury Setback and Loan Spell

The Irishman had loan spells at AFC Sudbury back then, where he honed his abilities by competing in senior games. However, everything slowed down in February – His progress was stopped when he needed surgery to repair a broken ankle as he attempted to reach greater heights.

He’s making great strides in his recuperation and concentrating on his future career path.

Babb took to LinkedIn to announce his departure, giving a thoughtful reflection of his time in Ipswich.

“Having just turned 18, I transferred to Ipswich Town Football Club from the League of Ireland. Since then, over the course of 2. 5 years, I have learned a lot from both my triumphs and setbacks. I have improved both as a player and as a human being.

He also stated how proud he was to have contributed to the academy’s ascension to the top tier.

“I am proud of the ITFC academy’s transition to Category 1 and the success we shared along the way in Premier League 2. “

During his time at the club, Babb expressed gratitude to those who stood by him.

“During my time at the club, I have worked with numerous coaches, teammates, and members of the staff, and I am appreciative of them all. I’m exiting this chapter with more fortitude, discipline, self-confidence, and resolve than ever before.

Furthermore, he has stated that he is prepared for the next stage.

“It’s now time for the next chapter in men’s football. I’m eager, motivated, and excited about the future challenges. I appreciate Ipswich Town.

Having demonstrated professionalism, perseverance, and consistent growth during his tenure in Suffolk, Babb departs with the sincere well wishes of everyone at the club. His next move will be to return to senior football, and he claims to be prepared for it.
