Not everyone loves the Texas Tech softball team, and Gerry Glasco is okay with that. One reason he may be alright with it is because the Red Raiders’ softball program has an extremely devoted and devoted fan base.

Some people may find Glasco and the Red Raiders to be a bit divisive right now. This is the Red Raiders’ second visit to the Women’s College World Series (which is really just their second trip to Oklahoma City to try to compete for a national championship), yet people are treating Texas Tech as if it isn’t a program that is constantly an underdog.

Some people are irritated that the Red Raiders are figuring out how to win, for some reason, in light of the shifting environment of college sports. But while people outside of West Texas don’t like the Texas Tech softball team, Red Raider fans in Lubbock are ecstatic about Glasco and all that Texas Tech is doing right now.

Because this kind of thing has never happened before at Texas Tech. And it’s a positive thing that a lesser-known program is accomplishing more than it has in the past. Glasco is aware of it. Texas Tech supporters are aware of it.

“If you visit Lubbock, you’ll discover that the softball community is absolutely enthusiastic right now,” Glasco stated. “You couldn’t get a softball shirt when I first arrived there. Even after visiting every clothing shop, there was nothing with a yellow softball or a softball insignia. You wouldn’t have discovered anything that indicated Texas Tech softball. Today, you can find it everywhere. “

In just two seasons, Gerry Glasco is delighted that the Red Raiders have established a passionate Texas Tech softball following.

Texas Tech fans have immediately bought in after Glasco and the Red Raiders have demonstrated what this program is capable of. This is fantastic for West Texas and college softball.

“I’ve been receiving photos of the hoodies and blankets with the World Series logo since we entered the World Series. The program has been embraced by the city of Lubbock, and the amount of support we’re receiving is unbelievable.

Not everyone is pleased that Texas Tech has discovered ways to win games and contend for a national championship, of course. Not every college softball fan is happy that the Red Raiders have altered the sport’s balance of power.

Glasco commented, “I was laughing yesterday, like we’re America’s villains. ” “I’m telling you, we’re the Cinderella of Lubbock, Texas, and they adore us in Lubbock, Texas. “Right now, we’re right there with Buddy Holly. “
