Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold is facing multiple felony charges after Florida prosecutors accused the former first-round NFL Draft pick of orchestrating an alleged kidnapping and armed robbery connected to the theft of personal property earlier this year.

According to the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, Arnold is one of seven individuals charged in connection with a February incident in Tampa, Florida. Prosecutors allege that three men were lured to an apartment, held at gunpoint, assaulted, and robbed in what authorities describe as a planned act of retaliation.

Investigators say the alleged attack was linked to the reported theft of more than $250,000 in cash, jewelry, and other valuables stolen from an Airbnb Arnold had rented with friends in nearby Largo days before the incident. However, authorities later concluded that the three alleged victims were not involved in the original burglary.

Prosecutors claim Arnold coordinated the alleged robbery through text messages and a group chat, directing co-defendants before and during the incident. While investigators acknowledge Arnold did not allegedly enter the apartment or physically assault the victims, they contend he played a central role in planning the operation.

The victims later contacted Tampa police and were found with visible injuries. Authorities say cellphone records, witness testimony, and statements from co-defendants helped identify Arnold’s alleged involvement.

Arnold surrendered to law enforcement earlier this week and was booked on four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery. He is currently being held without bond and could face a life sentence if convicted.

Arnold’s sports management agency has denied all allegations, stating that the Detroit Lions defensive back “categorically denies any involvement” in the incident. His legal team also argues that the prosecution’s case relies heavily on testimony from convicted co-defendants who may be seeking reduced sentences.

The Detroit Lions acknowledged they are aware of the legal matter but declined to comment further while the investigation and court proceedings remain ongoing.

A Tallahassee, Florida, native, Arnold starred at the University of Alabama before being selected by Detroit with the No. 24 overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The criminal case remains under investigation, and Arnold is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
