Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke died in the San Fernando Valley on Monday, according to NBC4. He was 29 years old.

While official details remain unknown, NBC4 reports that authorities are treating Clarke’s death as a probable overdose.

How did Brandon Clarke die?
An official cause of death has not yet been declared for Clarke.
According to NBC4, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for a medical emergency in the San Fernando Valley on Monday at approximately 5 p. m. local time. Clarke was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived.
Furthermore, according to NBC4, drug equipment was discovered at the house, and the event is being investigated as a probable overdose. An autopsy will be performed to definitively confirm the cause of Clarke’s death.
In April, Clarke was arrested in Arkansas on allegations of speeding, fleeing, and possession of a restricted drug.
The 29-year-old had been in the NBA since 2019, after being chosen 21st overall by the Thunder and traded to the Grizzlies.
