On Monday night, the Detroit Lions aim to overcome past struggles as they face the San Francisco 49ers.

After losing to the 49ers in the NFC Championship, head coach Dan Campbell expressed his desire to avoid that pain again, acknowledging the lessons in defeat. “In my second year, we reached the Super Bowl and got crushed by Baltimore. I’ll never forget that. Those memories stick with you,” Campbell said Saturday via ESPN. “We didn’t do enough. You learn from each experience. Unfortunately, losses are the best teachers. That’s just how it works.”

“You don’t want to feel that way again, so you have to prepare properly, play the right way, and focus on the opponent. It’s as simple as that. This is our next challenge, and we have to stay calm, composed, and disciplined, doing the small things necessary to win,” Campbell added.

While Campbell is locked in on the 49ers, his wife is focused on the Minnesota Vikings, who beat the Green Bay Packers on Sunday to set up a decisive game for the NFC North title.

On Sunday night, Holly Campbell shared a social media post aimed at the Vikings. “If we don’t take back the North, we’ll never be safe. I want your help, but I’ll do it myself if I have to,” the post read.

Detroit and Minnesota will battle not just for the division but for the NFC’s top playoff seed. The winner secures the No. 1 seed and a bye, while the loser drops to the No. 5 seed and faces a road game.
