Between the NFL’s Dec. 16 fan voting report for the Pro Bowl Games and the final vote totals released on Tuesday, Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs was the only player to maintain a top-five ranking.
After ranking fifth in the initial voting, Gibbs, a former Alabama player, surged to second place in the final tally. His vote count soared from 94,940 to 250,082 during the last week of fan voting. The only player who received more votes than Gibbs was Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who earned 252,200 votes.
The original top five in December included Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Ravens running back Derrick Henry, and Gibbs. In the final results, behind Kelce and Gibbs were Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, and Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff.
In addition, the NFL revealed the top vote-getter at each position in both conferences. Similar to Gibbs, Derrick Henry topped the AFC’s running back votes. Patrick Surtain II, another Alabama alumnus, led the AFC cornerback voting with the Denver Broncos.
Pro Bowl selections made by fans, players, and coaches, each counting for one-third, will determine the final rosters for the AFC and NFC teams. These rosters will be announced on Thursday during NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.”
The Pro Bowl will culminate in a 7-on-7 flag football game on February 2 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The event will be part of a multi-day competition where all-stars from both conferences will showcase their skills in various football and non-football activities.
