Under Dan Campbell, the Detroit Lions have risen to become one of the NFL’s top teams, gaining significant popularity beyond Detroit. Their primetime games often attract massive viewership, as seen with the high ratings for their recent Monday night matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Fans of other teams are also increasingly rooting for the Lions when their own teams aren’t involved.
This surge in popularity is reflected in the fan portion of Pro Bowl voting. The full 2025 Pro Bowl rosters, determined by fan, player, and coach votes, were set to be announced on Thursday morning during NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.” On Tuesday, the results revealed that the Lions led all NFL teams in total votes, with two of their players finishing in the top-five overall vote-getters:
1. Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs: 252,200
2. Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions: 250,082
3. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders: 242,352
4. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals: 239,526
5. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions: 225,858
In total, seven Lions players were the top vote-getters at their respective positions, including Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Penei Sewell, Kevin Zeitler, Frank Ragnow, Kerby Joseph, and Jack Fox. Several other Lions players finished in the top-five in fan voting for their positions: Goff (third among quarterbacks), Brian Branch (second among safeties), Taylor Decker (second among offensive tackles), Graham Glasgow (second among guards), Alim McNeill (third among defensive tackles), Sam LaPorta (fourth among tight ends), Jack Campbell (second among inside linebackers), Carlton Davis (fourth among cornerbacks), David Montgomery (fifth among running backs), Sione Vaki (third among special teamers), Jake Bates (third among kickers), and Hogan Hatten (fourth among long snappers).
While Lions fans may argue that the Pro Bowl voting is less important given their aspirations to play in the Super Bowl, the results highlight the widespread support and admiration for the team’s talent and performance across the nation.
