Detroit Lions running back Craig Reynolds missed the final practice of the week on Friday before the team’s critical Week 18 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Reynolds, who has stepped up as the main backup to Jahmyr Gibbs following David Montgomery’s injury, plays a crucial role in the Lions’ running back rotation. His absence raises doubts about his availability for Sunday’s game, which holds major implications for both the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Along with Reynolds, cornerback Emmanuel Moseley also missed practice due to illness. Running back Montgomery, managing a knee issue, was also absent from practice. On a more positive note, offensive lineman Christian Mahogany returned to practice after being sidelined for some time, which could strengthen the depth of the offensive line.

Reynolds has been a reliable performer in Montgomery’s absence, contributing important carries and blocking in pivotal moments. Should he be unavailable, the Lions might need to depend more on Gibbs and other running backs like Jermar Jefferson to support their playoff aspirations. Updates on Reynolds, Moseley, and Montgomery’s conditions are expected before Sunday’s game.
