The 14-2 Minnesota Vikings are set to clash with the 14-2 Detroit Lions in a pivotal Week 18 matchup on Sunday night.

The winner of this final game will secure the NFC’s No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The losing team will fall to the No. 5 seed, making it unlikely they will host any postseason games.

With so much on the line, both teams are seeking any advantage they can find heading into this crucial matchup.

Despite the game being held at Ford Field in Detroit, the Vikings plan to ensure a strong presence in the stands.

On Saturday night, Minnesota revealed they had purchased 1,900 secondary-market tickets directly behind the visitors’ bench. The tickets, bought for around $1,000 each, will be resold to team affiliates for $200-300.

The Vikings invested nearly $2 million in the purchase.

“Given the significance of this game, we wanted to give our stakeholders — staff, family, season ticket members, and team partners — the chance to attend,” the Vikings stated.

The Lions reported the ticket acquisition to the NFL, but the league determined that the Vikings had not broken any rules.
